The Dumfries and Galloway Community Transport Partnership agreed to consider the CT network set up and the Quality Framework established within the West of Scotland Community Transport Network. This Quality Framework will be replicated in Dumfries and Galloway as part of our PSP.
Any Community Transport Operator who wants to be a member of the Community Transport Network will have to meet the Quality Framework set out. The quality standards contained within the framework have been chosen which:
- Supports the development of a professional and accountable CT sector.
- Are appropriate to the legal and practical framework of the CT sector.
- Increase the quality of transport provision from the third and voluntary sectors.
Structure of the Framework
The framework is designed to cover the key aspects of operating a community transport organisation. These are divided into 4 key areas:
- Vehicle Management
- Governance
- Finance/Planning
- Operations
There are four different compliance categories that the Community Transport operator’s can apply for depending on the nature of services the operators provides.
