Wigtownshire Community Transport are based in Stranraer. They serve Stranraer, the Rhins, and east to Newton Stewart. As well as running school services and scheduled buses (407, 410, 411 and 412), they also offer community group minibus hire and hospital transport.

Galloway Community Transport

Galloway Community Transport (GCT), formerly know as Glenkens Community Initiative, is a community transport operator based in the Glenkens district of Dumfries and Galloway. As well as running council contracts for school transport and the 517 Borgue service, GCT also offer excursions, a weekly shopping trip to Castle Douglas, community group hire and patient transport.

Dalbeattie Community Minibus

The Dalbeattie Community Minibus SCIO owns and operates a minibus which can be hired by constituted organisations. We can occasionally provide a volunteer driver but usually groups have their own volunteers. To hire the minibus, groups must join the organisation (£5) and then they pay a mileage fee of 65p per mile for any journeys made. Bookings are made through the Dalbeattie High School office. Drivers are required to provide driving license details including a ‘check code’ so licenses can be checked with DVLA.

The Order of St John

St John provide a patient transport service for people undergoing treatment for cancer. They can assist people travelling for chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or PET scans within and outwith Dumfries and Galloway. Operating mainly in the west of the region, a request for help with transport can be made through the Stranraer Cancer Drop In Centre, oncology at DGRI or The Order of St John Transport Coordinator.

Royal Voluntary Service

Royal Voluntary Service volunteers provide transport to medical appointments such as hospital and GP appointments. This service is for people whose needs are not met by public transport, due to restricted mobility or living in rural areas.

Formerly Annandale Transport Initiative, providing transport for voluntary groups and community organisations serving the Annandale area. Door-to-door transport for individuals in Annandale, for people with restricted mobility whose needs are not met by public transport. Upper Nithsdale Minibus Project

The objects of the project shall be to promote the benefits of the inhabitants of Upper Nithsdale by operating transport services to assist the work of organisations engaged in the relief of poverty, sickness and the disabilities of old age, the provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation within the meaning of Section 1 of the Recreational Charities Act, 1958 or any other charitable purpose so that the conditions of life of the aforementioned inhabitants may be improved.
